ioVetAC
ioVetAC is a sterile, single-use foldable intraocular lens for veterinary cataract surgery. It is intended for correction of aphakia after removal of the natural crystalline lens and must be selected and implanted by a qualified veterinary ophthalmic surgeon.
Professional-use product
For sale only to licensed veterinarians. Lens selection, surgical candidacy, power calculation, implantation technique and postoperative management are clinical decisions for the veterinary ophthalmic surgeon.
Material and optical properties
The lens is made from a hydrophilic acrylic copolymer containing HEMA, EMA and MMA. A 3-hydroxykynurenine-β-glucoside UV-filtering agent limits transmission below 360 nm. Reported hydrated-material properties include 25% ± 2% hydration, refractive index 1.461 ± 0.05 at 600 nm and optical transmittance above 95% at 600 nm.
Indications
Replacement of the natural crystalline lens after cataract extraction and correction of aphakia in veterinary patients, based on evaluation by a veterinary ophthalmologist.
Contraindications
- Active ocular infection
- Severe ocular inflammation
- Structural abnormalities that prevent proper lens positioning
