Giving a conventional eye drop can be difficult when a pet turns away, closes the eyelids or becomes anxious as a bottle tip approaches. A fine, metered ocular mist offers another administration format for suitable lubricating products and can be applied without bringing a dropper tip close to the eye.

Why a mist format may make the routine easier

A traditional drop often requires the caregiver to steady the muzzle, tilt the head, hold an eyelid open and place the drop accurately without touching the eye. With a labeled ocular mist, the bottle is held about 4 inches away and the pump is fully depressed for the labeled dose. Some pets may tolerate this approach more readily, although every animal and eye condition is different.

What “approximately 60 nm” describes

Manufacturer testing reports that the VIZOOVET metered sprayer produces droplets of approximately 60 nm after actuation. The delivery device produces this output; the liquid inside the bottle is not described as containing pre-formed nanoparticles. Droplet size is a physical device measurement. By itself, it does not prove that the product penetrates deeper, is absorbed more completely or is clinically superior to a conventional eye drop.

A calmer application still requires responsible eye care

Use an ocular mist only when the product label and your veterinarian indicate that it is appropriate. Wash and dry your hands, aim carefully, avoid touching the applicator to the eye or fur, and do not share a container between animals. Lubricating products support the ocular surface but do not replace diagnosis or prescription treatment.

Eye pain, persistent squinting, cloudiness, trauma, marked redness, significant discharge or sudden vision change requires prompt veterinary attention.
